Bolino NavigationPalm Files and Image Collections for Radiology
simultaneous Web and Palm viewable files, use of a complete open source authoring solution

Using the open-source BolinOS plug-in and Mathias Tschopp´s (best known for the free MedCalc application) open-source SyncPad application and conduit, we have started deploying on-the-fly Palm and Web multimedia radiological files. The system originally developed by Dr Mathias Tschopp, has been fine-tuned in order to give users the availability of a fast dedicated handheld synchronizable browser, a wireless handheld web availability, or tradiational web browsing. The multi-user authoring system extensively uses the BolinOS framework.

Today we have more than 130 radiological files that contain protocols, report templates, case image collections, ... used in the palm of one´s hand. These are combined to more than a thousand other multimedia medical files in other medical domains.

WiFi experimentation
wireless networks for on-the-fly communication

Using encrypted WiFi, we are currently experimenting new ways to use Palm devices with wireless connectivity on the radiological ward. For 10Mbits+ medical files synchronisation or other BolinOS based internet image collections and quiz, we have started using the equipment on a daily basis in order to better understand the advantages and pitfalls of the technology.

To be able to view and freely download the Palm medical files, you need to have a login. These include radiological files, but also internal medicine, surgery, ... These are currently available in French only.

Please register to get your download access. In the meantime you can view some of the files online.

More than 1200 medical files will then be offered to your palmtop, and increasing every day...

This site, including online applications, is built using our co-developed open source CMS named BolinOS, you can contact us for more info about this shared project.
